Board Meeting Minutes
 

 

Meeting Date: July 7, 2009

 

Meeting Time: 8:00pm

Agenda: 2009-2010 Wrestling Season

 

 

This meeting is called to order by Michael cahn, President

 

1.Facebook will be utilized to network with parents in addition to the web site to be informed of important dates, events, and announcements.  In addition Michael cahn is going to try to post match results in real time for people not in attendance.

 

2. Web site domain is being renewed for another year

 

3. High school summer duals will be sponsored by the jr chiefs and are taking place from 5-9pm July 21,23,28,30.  Jr chiefs will run a concession as a fundraiser and need volunteers.

 

4. Sunday September 07 2007 is the tentative date for the horseshoe tournament / fundraiser.  This event will consist of entry fee , concession and prizes.  Details will be discussed at the fundraising meeting.

 

5. A special meeting will be scheduled for  august 25th @ 8:00pm at the civic center.  The purpose of this meeting will be strictly to discuss the pending application to move the club back to tri county.  All interested parties with input will be notified including last years roster of parents . All board members and all coaches must attend if possible.

 

6. Michael cahn would like to introduce an amendment to the bi-laws to allow veteran wrestlers, parents, alumni, coaches or any other parties who have either wrestled in the jr chiefs program, coached, assisted or was the parent of a qualified child to be voted in as an honorary voting trustee.  A special meeting will be held August 25th @ 8:00pm to vote on the final motion.  This is being done to expand the pool of volunteers and have a larger governing board with history perspective of the club.  The number of years and qualifications necessary to qualify will need to be discussed by the full board.

7. Michael cahn brought up the idea of charging the varsity wrestlers for their uniform this year not including the singlet.  JV will have the option to purchase their sweatshirt or use the existing equipment.  Novice will continue receive a t-shirt as part or the sign up fee .  All jv and novice wrestlers will be expected to supply basic black shorts. The varsity uniform will be priced out prior to the season start and is being budgeted not to exceed 50 dollars for a basic uniform or 75 with logos.

 

8.Coaches letters will be due on or before the special August 25th meeting to be voted on.  Any new coaches must be interviewed prior to the vote.

 

9. The next meeting will be Tuesday July 14th @ 8pm Civic center.
