Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting Date: August 11, 2009

Meeting Time: 8:00pm

Attending: Michael Cahn, Linda Frazier, Colette Ioffredo, Coach Cruz, Coach Bongiovanni, Scott Aulman, non-board members - Amy Mastroeni

Agenda: 2009-2010 Wrestling Season

1.  Prior minutes were reviewed and approved.

2.  More discussion was held regarding the registration dates and dates practice to start. Hold early registration and/or open house.  Reserve gym 6 days a week. Do registration open house at Super Saturday. Have to extremely advertise wrestling sign-ups.

3. Tournament dates need to be assigned ASAP, so that Saturdays can be reserved if possible. Saturdays are optimal due to expenses. Possible other sites to hold tournaments around town. Team tournament, varsity tournament, and novice tournament scheduling. Not recommended to have JV and novice tournament on same day. Weight, age, and experience are big factors at these levels.

4.  Additional details and discussion regarding TriCounty League. North Jersey League discussion regarding JV and novice so that they get matches. JV wrestlers get slighted in Sussex League due to amount of matches.

5. Cruz would like to run a Texas-hold-em type fundraising event. Fundraising & canning dates set. Review of fundraising plans.

6.  Next meeting will be August 18, 2009, 8:30pm @ the Civic Center.
